Our commitment is simple: to be with you, and your family, for life.

From the moment you begin your training, throughout your professional life, and into retirement we're here to help - in all kinds of ways. And we're not just here for past and present ICAEW members, close families can access our services too.

Did you know?

All our services are free to past and present ICAEW members and their families, but they are heavily invested in by CABA, ensuring that the services we provide are up-to-date and of the highest standard.

We take your privacy seriously. Whilst we work with ICAEW, we never share any information with them about the individuals we support. We don’t share personal information or contact details with other charities or companies either. Never.

We’re not volunteers or ex-accountants. CABA staff are experts in their specialism. And where expertise does not exist in the charity, it is contracted from experienced and established professionals.

CABA is a very well-funded charity. We’re able to support every area of life for past and present ICAEW members and their families, and we’ll be able to keep that promise for generations to come. We can afford to invest in you.

We’re not funded by ICAEW. Everything we do is funded by the generous donations of members, and the wise investment of those donations.

Your questions answered

Does CABA help with care home top up fees?

CABA is able to offer support with the 'top up' costs of residential care, in some circumstances. To find out if you or someone you care for is eligible for this support, call us on +44 (0) 1788 556 366.

Does CABA help with debt repayments?

CABA can’t fund debt repayments, however, we do provide debt advice and we can help you to understand your situation and explore options for you to help manage your debt. We can also help negotiate with creditors over repayments and support you, if required, in some basic legal proceedings. You may still wish to have legal representation.

Can CABA provide me with legal advice?

If you have a question about your legal rights or want to get advice on a legal situation, CABA can provide ACA students, past and present ICAEW members, past and present ICAEW staff and their families with access to free telephone legal advice provided by LawExpress (English and Welsh law). If you're based outside of the UK, CABA can provide access to telephone legal advice in parts of Europe and in Australia. Please contact us for further details.

To access this telephone legal advice contact us. When you get in touch one of our team will ask you what area of law you would like help with and will arrange for you to speak to an experienced adviser from LawExpress over the telephone in as little as 2 hours.

If you would rather not speak to someone over the telephone, you can also access free online legal information covering a wide range of topics using our legal factsheets provided by LawExpress. CABA doesn't provide financial support towards legal costs and cannot represent people legally.

Can CABA pay for my ICAEW membership fees?

For ICAEW members struggling to pay their subscriptions, we're able to offer financial assistance (means tested based on household income). Whatever your situation, we're always here to offer advice to help you manage your finances.
