You will lead the ongoing development and implementation of caba’s people and culture strategy, embedding contemporary practices, building our employer brand, and fulfilling the HR requirements of the charity to create a values driven organisation that is well-managed, inclusive and supportive.
 
As a member of the leadership team, the role has collective responsibility for leading the development and implementation of caba’s strategic vision, participating, and engaging in business strategy and planning to optimise the charity’s performance and strategic position.

your key responsibilities 

  • Contribute to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of caba, putting our people at the centre of the strategy to maximise our ability to deliver, identifying and prioritising opportunities and challenges, and reviewing, monitoring, and reporting progress.

  • Provide leadership development, ensuring highly effective performance management is embedded, and career pathways and succession plans are designed and implemented to improve the capabilities of the charity.

  • Lead initiatives to develop and embed organisational values throughout all levels of the Charity, ensuring alignment with our vision and purpose.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to cultivate and advance caba’s culture, fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to our collective success.

  • Collaborate with the board of trustees and the People, Culture, and Governance Committee to provide strategic HR guidance, expertise, and insights, ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and organisational goals, values, and governance principles.

  • Design and implement innovative reward strategies tailored to attract and retain top talent, while ensuring fairness, equity, and alignment with caba's strategic objectives and market competitiveness.

  • Drive the development of organisational design strategies and initiatives aimed at optimising efficiency, collaboration, and agility across departments, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.

  • Lead caba’s people processes, policies and systems to enable the charity to meet its people and culture goals so that our people feel the organisation is both progressive and supportive of their work and wellbeing.

  • Lead the day to day running of caba’s People function including the administration of routine and legal HR requirements, and providing proactive and timely advice on employment issues as they arise, enabling the charity to resolve them fairly, effectively, and efficiently.

  • Build caba’s employer brand developing and embedding employee engagement and wellbeing plans to improve the charity’s position as a welcoming, inclusive and values driven employer that attracts, grows and retains talent.

  • Develop our employee learning and development programme ensuring our people across all roles, have the right skills to be effective in their jobs.

to be successful, you’ll have:  

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organisational goals, driving culture, employee engagement, and organisational performance.

  • Proficiency in leading organisational change initiatives, fostering a culture of adaptability, and facilitating smooth transitions during periods of transformation.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.

  • Expertise in designing and implementing performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and career development pathways, to drive individual and organisational success.

experience:

  • Previous leadership experience in a senior HR role, demonstrating a track record of successfully leading and driving strategic people and culture initiatives.

  • Experience in developing and implementing people strategies and programs that support organisational development, cultural transformation, and organisational objectives.

  • Experience in implementing innovative recruitment and talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong relationships with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners, fostering collaboration and alignment across the organisation.

  • Experience in managing a diverse range of people functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and reward and benefits.

qualifications:

  • Leadership/management qualification, or similar, with access to latest thinking.

  • Hold an CIPD qualification with active chartered experience.
