What's this course about?

Like it or not, change is a normal part of life.  It affects everyone, personally and professionally.  It can be something you put in motion yourself - changing your job, moving house, starting a diet, for instance - or something you have no control over, such as a bereavement or redundancy.

The problem is that if you resist or don't manage well when change happens - it can be highly stressful.  Your attitude to change, from embracing it at one end of the scale to dreading it at the other, can make all the difference.

Our managing personal change effectively course can help you learn how to accept or adjust to change, and how to explore what change can mean.  We'll show you how to view change as a positive force and an opportunity, so that you can reap the benefits of a changing situation.

What will you get out of it?

This course will give you the positive attitude and skills you need to deal successfully with change in both your personal and professional lives.  You'll learn tools to help you adjust your thinking so that you can overcome the obstacles that change may throw at you.  You'll also learn ways of dealing more effectively with unpredictable or changing work situations so that instead of feeling stressed when change happens, you can make the most of it.

After completing this course you will be able to

  • Recognise the change process and how it impacts on you individually
  • Be aware of your own individual response to change
  • Understand how individual responses to change can impact on performance and motivation
  • Use effective strategies to manage personal change
