living outside the UK?

we offer practical, personalised support to eligible ICAEW members, ACA students, and their close family dependents facing financial, physical, or mental health challenges. While most of our services are available internationally, a few - such as legal or debt advice - are restricted to UK only delivery. Below, you’ll find an overview of the international support we can offer.

financial support (means-tested)

We take into account the cost of living in your country, especially where there is limited or no state support. International support includes:

  • Back to school costs: Seasonal support for essential school-related expenses
  • Care at home
  • Energy payments: Support towards gas/electricity bills, AC units or UPS batteries
  • Equipment and adaptations: Such as stair lifts, mobility aids, and home modifications
  • Funeral costs
  • Health-related costs: Glasses, hearing aids, dental work, and medical treatment—based on what would typically be covered by the UK NHS
  • Household goods and repairs: Boilers, white goods, carpets, and more.
  • ICAEW subscription support: Low rate for members and, student admission & membership fee support
  • Job search costs: For unemployed, help with travel to interviews and interview clothing
  • Medical treatment: Support for essential treatment where local state healthcare is limited, based on what would typically be available through the UK NHS
  • Moving costs: Including removal vans, tenancy fees, and essential furniture
  • Respite care
  • Residential or nursing home top-up fees
  • Shortfall grants: Temporary support to bridge the gap between income and essential costs, helping individuals make appropriate changes

support for your family

Life partners, spouses and children up to the age of 25 can register with caba in their own right. They can access on-demand resources and request direct support - just like ICAEW members and ACA students. If someone in your family needs help, they don’t need to go through you to get it. Encourage them to sign up and register today.

not sure if you’re eligible?

We understand that everyone’s situation is different. Even if you have some savings or income, you may still qualify for support - especially if you're facing unexpected costs or limited access to local services. We assess each case individually and always do our best to help.
