what's this course about?

Experts agree that whatever our life stage, there are ways we can look after our bones and potentially prevent osteoporosis and the associated pain and immobility. However, this condition typically carries no or few warning signs - until it’s too late. Staggeringly, around half of British women will develop osteoporosis and the rates amongst men over 50 continue to climb. This course will enable you to identify your personal, modifiable risk factors and to address certain diet and lifestyle aspects which may support optimal skeletal health.

what will you get out of it?

We will discover that improving our bone density goes much deeper than simply consuming calcium and Vitamin D. The many other pivotal nutrients, antinutrients and exercise types involved will be examined. You will leave armed with plenty of bone-friendly meal ideas and safe exercise methods, underpinned by the latest scientific research. We will create a 10-point nutrition and movement strategy to help you stay focused on supporting better bone health for now and for the future.

after completing this course you will be able to

  • Recognise the wide-ranging and often underappreciated risk factors for this common condition
  • Clearly understand how much calcium you are consuming compared with requirements, and learn some of the many ways in which nutrition is understood to support our bone mineral density
  • Examine if healthier bones may be achieved by improving our gut health and refining our workouts
