what we're exploring

what have the insight community been up to?

In 2026, we’ll be exploring the issues that matter most to our community. Our research is shaped by real experiences, and we’d love to hear your voice and learn from your lived experience.

Over the coming year, we’ll be focusing on:

  • Mental health challenges – exploring experiences of accessing support, barriers to care, and what good support looks like.
  • Carers – understanding the realities of unpaid care, wellbeing, and support needs.
  • Financial hardship and cost-of-living pressures – examining how financial pressures affect wellbeing and access to services.
  • Neurodiversity – exploring lived experiences, inclusion, and how services and systems can better support neurodivergent individuals.

Whenever a research project goes live, we’ll post an update here and contact Insight Community members directly by email - so keep an eye on your inbox.

will I be invited to every project?

All members receive information about new projects. However, some projects may require participants with specific experiences or from certain groups, depending on the focus of the research.

how do you choose participants?

If a project requires a specific group, we’ll select participants based on the criteria needed to ensure the research is relevant and representative.

If more people apply than we can include, we may randomly select participants or prioritise those who best meet the project criteria.

If you’re not selected, we’ll always aim to offer another way to share your voice — whether through a survey, feedback form, future project, or alternative engagement opportunity.

Your experience and insight are important to us.

what if I don’t get selected?

There will always be future opportunities to get involved throughout the year. We regularly run new research activities and encourage members to apply to any projects that interest them.

will I receive a voucher or reimbursement?

Most research activities offer a voucher or prize draw as a thank you for your time and contribution.

Full details will always be included in the project invitation so you know what to expect before taking part.

Yes. Taking part is always voluntary. You can decide which projects you’d like to participate in and are free to decline any invitation.

what happens to my information?

Your information will be handled confidentially and in line with data protection regulations.

We’ll clearly explain how your data will be used in each project invitation. Any findings shared publicly will not identify you personally unless you’ve given explicit consent.

how will my input make a difference?

Your feedback helps shape research findings, inform services, and influence improvements.

We’ll share updates from completed projects so you can see the impact of your contribution and how your voice has helped drive change.
