Overview

New for 2019: 3-hour short course. Research shows that yoga has a wide range of benefits for your physical and mental wellbeing. Here you can learn simple yoga stretches to gently release tension and soothe aching joints, meditation techniques to help you deal with stress, and a deep relaxation practice that contributes to an overall feeling of wellbeing and helps to relieve tension, fatigue and anxiety.

What's this course about?

Regular practice of yoga can provide a range of benefits both physically and mentally. Often what we do in our day-to-day lives including spending several hours a day at our desks can cause long term damage to our bodies. Gentle movement through yoga can be key to keeping the body mobile and help us avoid some common physical issues as well as relieve stress and anxiety.

This practical course will give you the opportunity to learn about the key benefits yoga can provide. You'll also learn how meditation and breathing practices can help to alleviate physical and psychological difficulties.

What will you get out of it?

You'll have the opportunity to learn some simple yoga stretches that you can use daily either at work or at home that will help you combat the minor aches and pains associated with poor posture. You'll also learn some simple meditation practices to help you unwind and practice a deep relaxation called yoga nidra.

After completing this course you will be able to

  • Identify the physical and psychological benefits of regular practice of yoga and meditation
  • Practice simple yoga stretches and postures to reduce tension
  • Practice simple meditations to help relieve stress and increase relaxation
