Having time and space to reflect on how I live my life and use my phone was great.  The questions got me thinking.

Course delegate, Digital downtime: striking the right balance

3-hour short course.

How many times a day do you check your phone? According to a recent survey, Americans check their phones at least 80 times a day and Brits check in 28 times a day!

We know that hyper-connectivity and an ‘always on’ culture causes workplace stress, but technology, love it or loathe it, is here to stay.

Giving up your phone or computer altogether is not a realistic option, but would you benefit from a healthier relationship with your digital devices? Book your place now to find out.

What's this course about?

Together we’ll explore the latest research in psychology, neuroscience and mindfulness to take a balanced view of smart technology and how it can influence our lives.

As well as examining the benefits of smart devices, perhaps more importantly you'll also increase your understanding of how technology can become a distractor, divide your attention, affect relationships or even hold you back.

We’ll then look at ways for you to take back control, including the opportunity that switching off brings, so that your digital devices are no longer the boss of you!

What will you get out of it?

  • You’ll discover simple ways to increase your wellbeing
  • Create a realistic plan to make technology work for you
  • Examine the relationship you have with your phone or smart device to find out whether you’re addicted
  • Find out if you’d benefit from a digital detox

After completing this course you will be able to

  • Recognise the early warning signs of over-reliance on technology
  • Take action to minimise and control addiction
  • Restore the balance in your life
  • Reconnect with the people and activities that matter to you

Is this course for you?

This course is for anyone who would like to explore ways of minimising reliance on technology.

Delegates will be expected to turn off their mobile phones and/or any other digital devices for the duration of the workshop.

Delegates need to be open to some self-analysis within a safe and supportive environment.
