Our support

We work with a wide range of expert organisations to deliver our support and services, from career coaching, to emotional support and legal advice.

In 2018 we launched a new partnership with Cruse Bereavement Care, the UK's largest bereavement charity. Our partnership means in the UK past and present ICAEW members, ACA students and their close families can receive free telephone support sessions from Cruse's trained volunteers.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW)

Although we're an independent organisation, we work closely with ICAEW to engage and support more members of the chartered accountant community.

In 2018, we reached and supported 10,673 past and present members and their families, and ICAEW staff, through working in partnership on 270 events and wellbeing initiatives.

Throughout the year, we worked with all 23 of the ICAEW District Societies and the Institute Members Scotland (IMS). We continued to grow our work with student societies and Younger Member Groups (YML) more than tripling our engagement on 2017.

We provided bespoke offerings including 1-2-1 career coaching, tailored wellbeing talks, yoga and CV and LinkedIn profile reviews. We also provided funding for unemployed members to attend industry events to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.

ICAEW employers and tuition providers

In 2018, we supported the chartered accountant community by working with ICAEW employers, helping them to develop and maintain happy and healthy workforces. We also built strong partnerships with tuition providers. By working together, we’re able to provide the best possible support for ACA students in their personal and professional lives.

We worked with 70 employers and tuition providers to deliver support through 243 wellbeing initiatives including in-house workshops and seminars, webinar programmes, CPD events, wellbeing days and student inductions. This enabled us to reach and support 5,679 individuals, helping them to make positive changes to improve their own wellbeing.

We aim to provide holistic wellbeing support through our initiatives with employers and tuition providers. Some of the key areas of support during 2018 included:

  1. Boosting resilience
  2. Mindfulness
  3. Mental health awareness

'CABA have delivered several training sessions to our staff in the last couple of months. We have found these courses to be extremely engaging, interactive and informative, and the trainers have demonstrated a huge amount of passion and knowledge in their particular areas. We look forward to working more closely with CABA in the future.'
