FACT SHEETS
Care Homes and Fees
If you are considering long-term care for yourself or for a member of your family, there may be a number of difficult decisions you will need to make. In addition to these difficult decisions, this can also be a distressing and worrying time.
Access to information and advice concerning the decisions you need to make can ensure that the most appropriate care is available and that payment of the fees is met in the most cost effective way.
Information on choosing suitable care, whether in your own home or in a residential setting, the level of care required and the payment of fees can be obtained from your local Social Services Department, Age Concern, Counsel and Care and many other local and national organisations.
CABA is working with a national organisation, NHFA Ltd (Nursing Home Fees Agency) www.nhfa.co.uk. Through them, you can access fact sheets and a free telephone help and advice line on 0800 998833. In addition to advice and support, they are able to provide financial and legal advice together with information on:
- Funding Your Care
- Care Fee Plans
