Nick Brooks - PRESIDENT

Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2000 and President from June 2010.

Partner of Kingston Smith and heads up the Firm’s ‘Not for Profit’ sector group. Chairman of the Standards Committee at the Institute of Fundraising. Technical screener of accounts entered for the Charity Accounts Award each year, a Member of the Charity Law Association and also chairs the ICAEW's Charities' sub committee.

Nick is a Trustee of two other charities and lectures on charity matters.

 

John Heskett

Director of Chartered Accountants' Benevolent Association Trustees Ltd since 1992. Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2006 and President from July 2007 to June 2010.

Retired from Baring Asset Management in 2002 after 30 years service. Presently Chairman of Heartwood Wealth Group and a Director/Trustee of Intermediate Technology Development Group. A Trustee of ITDG's pension plan and an associate of EPIC Investment Advisors, which provides consultancy services to the pensions industry. A Member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Imperial College, London University.

 

Tom Hughes Parry

Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2003, partner Beer Aplin 1979–2004, partner Thomas Westcott 2004-2006 and Consultant with effect from May 2006.

Former Chairman (and current Committee Member) of the Institute’s Charity and Voluntary Sector Committee. Secretary to the Governors, Royal West of England School for the Deaf and Bursar and Secretary to the Governors, Maynard School, Exeter.

 

Richard Wyber

MA Cantab. Price Waterhouse 1969-1991, Partner 1979-1991. Director of Finance at Thomas Coram Foundation for Children 1991-1997, during which time he also served on the committee of the Charity Finance Directors' Group, and as a founder Committee Member of the Charity Investors' Group. Secretary, LSCA 1997-1998.

Director in Lord Rothschild's family office 1999-2005. wef July 2006, Assistant curate, Parish of Wanstead.

 

Hilary Lindsay

Hilary is a lecturer with the Open University Business School and works with the Open University’s commercial arm, on various e-learning initiatives. She also works in the Far East, on the University of Leicester’s MBA Programme. Closer to home she is Vice Chairman of the housing association, Boston Mayflower.

After qualifying as a chartered accountant she became a partner in a practice in the North West before joining the institute as a Practice Advisor. She subsequently became the Finance Director of Accountancy Business Group and then the director responsible for Member Services at the Institute.

Having ceased being an employee Hilary continued to “work” for ICAEW on a voluntary basis, becoming a District Society President and for the past five years, she has been a member of the ICAEW Council. There she has responsibility for provisional member liaison and she is also an ICAEW nominee on the AAT Council.

 

David Adams

A business coach, David Adams has more than 30 years experience in financial services. A Chartered Accountant, he has been a Stockbroker and Corporate Financier. Previously Chief Executive of Henry Cooke Group PLC, a leading provincial house, he was subsequently head of private clients at national investment managers, Capel-Cure Myers.

David has spent the last few years providing coaching, consultancy, interim manager and non-executive director services. Major projects have included working with the London Stock Exchange to examine thoroughly the workings of AIM (The Alternative Investment Market) and re-assess its rules; acting as Interim Managing Director/Finance Director to an Anglo-Israeli medical technology company and chairman of a property consultancy and a recruitment business. Other projects have included consulting with professional practices as well as the SME sector in general.

 

Paul McManus

Paul McManus is now semi-retired. He has had a career in industry as a Finance Director with companies such as BOC and CEC and spent the last 25 years of his career with 3i, first in advising 3i on investments and latterly in managing a portfolio of private equity investments.

 

 

 

Derek Hall

Derek is a retired tax partner based in Manchester and formerly with Grant Thornton and CLB Coopers. He is trustee of several charitable trusts and board member and chair of Audit Committee at Irwell Valley Housing Association, a large non-for-profit registered social landlord operating mainly in the Greater Manchester region.

 

 

Richard Wade

Richard was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2007. He was a partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers until 2001 where he worked in the UK and abroad with clients from a variety of industries.

Richard held a number of management positions including Chairman of the Middle Market Sector, which encompassed the firm’s non-for-profit practice.

He was engaged in mentoring and partner development programmes and has continued this interest by being a founder partner of Intuitive Leadership, which offers consultancy services to chairmen, CEOs and team leaders. He is also non-executive chairman of F W Baker Ltd, a family business based in the Midlands.

 

Robin Fieth

Robin Fieth joined the ICAEW as finance director in 2002.  He has overall responsibility for the ICAEW’s regional operations globally, marketing, financial management, information technology, property and corporate services and is also involved in strategic and commercial issues.


Robin qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse where he practised in both its London and Bristol offices.  He subsequently joined GiroVend Cashless Systems as finance director where amongst his achievements was the public listing of the company.  He became group finance director in 2000 when the business re-listed on AiM as Transacsys plc.

Robin joined CABA's board of Trustees in March, 2010.  He is married with 3 children and lives in Oxfordshire.
