Are you looking forward to Christmas? Is your living space already adorned with a tree, presents readily wrapped and mulled wine bubbling on the hob?
If you answered no to the above, you are not alone.
Research by ‘Which?’* has shown that over 40% of Britons who celebrate Christmas will cut down their festive spending this year.

Fifty per cent of those surveyed stated that they were worried about the cost of Christmas and more than a third said they planned to cross people off their present lists to save money. Almost one in ten have even said they won’t be able to afford a tree.
Richard Lloyd, executive director of ‘Which?’, said: “Cash-strapped consumers are really feeling the impact of rising costs this Christmas. People are being forced to cut back.”
‘Which?’ expressed concern that many people could be end up in debt going into the New Year with 16% of those questioned saying they will be using their credit cards for the majority of their Christmas shopping.
