Caring for a loved one is an important job, but it can place a strain on your income, your relationships and your own health. At CABA, we know that carers need to be looked after too. Our dedicated carer support officers can help you access community care, carer support and health services, and we can help and support you when you need to deal with social services or the NHS.
Whether you are a carer or the person experiencing ill-health, we want to hear from you. Our support officers are here for you when you face difficult decisions and to listen to your day-to-day concerns. We can find health information and also provide counselling to help people cope with the pressures that changes in health might bring. Where necessary, we can liaise with local authorities and can help fund specialist wheelchairs, home adaptions and mobility equipment.
We can advise on whether you are entitled to any benefits and help you to apply for them. We may also be able to provide grants and donations for respite care so that you can take a break and come back to the person you care for refreshed and with more energy.
Our support officers have extensive knowledge of the available equipment, so can also help with occupational therapy assessments.
